CSA Program Accepting Memberships

March 1, 2010

Memberships available for The Homestead Farm's Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program

The Homestead is accepting memberships for the Community Supported Agriculture Program (CSA) that will provide fresh fruits and vegetables all summer long. The program will begin with your first delivery late May and continue weekly through the growing season, usually mid-October. Each week for about 20 weeks, you'll receive a box of fresh, handpicked produce harvested that day.

You can purchase a single share membership for $450 or a double share membership for $850.  A single share is designed for 1-2 person households while a double share will supplement the fruit and vegetable needs for a 3-4 person household or for those smaller households that want to eat more vegetables or preserve fruits and vegetables for use at other times of the year.

During the season, pickup at the farm is available at no additional costs for members.  Pick up at one our convenient drop sites around the metro or delivery to your home or business is also available for an additional fee.

The Homestead Farm's CSA program grows more than 30 varieties of Certified Naturally Grown® fruits, vegetables and herbs on our farm outside Pleasant Hill, Iowa. Each week the contents of your box produce changes as the season changes.

When you buy locally grown produce through our CSA program you are helping employ individuals with autism while investing in the local economy. You are living green by purchasing food that was grown with minimal impact on the planet, decreasing your carbon footprint by minimizing the distance your food travels to your plate, and living healthy by purchasing food that was grown naturally without the hazardous chemicals used by many in the food production industry.
