The Homestead provides services to children and youth with autism in their homes and the community. This program meets the diverse needs of the children by providing assistance in learning skills that lead toward independence or increased access to life and home activities utilizing an approach firmly established through applied behavioral analysis (ABA). Each child's program is based on his specific needs and driven by an Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP) that outlines measurable, observable goals.

Our Youth Community Services program provides in-home services including intensive ABA programs to children living in Central Iowa. Services are provided at the child's home or at community-based locations in the nearby area.

Trained professionals work 2 to 3 hours a day with each child, working through an Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP) toward specific measurable goals using evidence-based techniques. Typical staffing patterns are 1 associate to 1 child. However, there may be some small group activities depending on the nature of programming. Personalized programs are developed for each individual with autism by their interdisciplinary team including the autism associate and the program manager.

The program may be funded through a variety of methods including private pay and Medicaid Supported Community Living hours.

Respite services, providing time away for parents, are also offered through this program.
