What started as a handful of homes for adults with autism on a plot of land in rural Pleasant Hill has evolved to service for over 150 children and adults through Youth Community Services, Adult Community Services, our Youth Home and our Campus Residential Program. Today, The Homestead proudly serves individuals from over 30 counties in Iowa. In addition, The Homestead provides consulting and training services to families and agencies throughout Iowa. Because of your generosity, we can continue to make a difference in the lives of adults and children with autism.
Individuals with autism require specialized assistance and training in order to maximize access to social, educational, vocational and family activities. With that individualized support, amazing things can happen. Individuals learn to more effectively communicate, better care for themselves, develop relationships with those around them and lead more fulfilling lives.
